Watch Care
How to care for your watch
Your NITE watch is a precision timepiece that will provide years of enjoyment and reliability if you take care of it correctly.
Below are our recommendations:
Cleaning
Please regularly rinse your watch in clean, fresh water to remove any sediment or other material that may accumulate on the watch during use, especially after use in salt water. Avoid direct contact with solvents (DEET insect repellents), detergents, perfumes, cosmetic products etc., since they may damage the bracelet, the case or the gaskets.
Water Resistance
NITE watches are all pressure tested to a water resistance of 20 to 30 ATM, depending on the model. However, many water-based activities may challenge the water-resistant features of the watch which means that water resistance cannot be permanently guaranteed. There are many factors that can affect water resistance such as extreme sudden changes in temperature, accidental shock to the crystal or crown or exposure to certain chemicals containing alcohol (sun cream etc.) causing the gaskets in your watch to dry out and potentially compromise the water resistance. The crown and/or pushers should never be operated under water and should always be pushed or screwed down tightly before entering the water. If you spend a lot of time in chlorinated swimming pools or sea water, we recommend that all gaskets should be inspected and replaced every 18-24 months by our service centre. Before and during any contact with water, the crown must always be firmly pushed (or screwed-in, depending on the model)
Crystals
NITE watches are made with sapphire glass crystals that are highly scratch resistant. If you crack or chip your crystal, it should be replaced immediately, as this may lead to water resistance or fogging issues.
Straps
The longevity of straps depends on your wearing habits and the exposure to water, sweat, sun, and chemicals such as sun cream, lotions, etc. It is normal for leather straps to darken and deteriorate over time. In the case of webbing straps, these can also deteriorate depending on your activities and lifestyle but can be washed in clean soapy water to freshen them up after use. Polymer straps can deteriorate when coming into contact with chemicals and creams. They also should be treated gently when taking off your watch as continuous bending, pulling and twisting can shorten the life of the strap. Bracelets have many components and need to be cleaned regularly with warm soapy water and a small brush to get in-between the links and the clasp.
We recommend that you change your strap regularly as this can often maintain the fresh appearance of your watch. Original NITE straps are available here.
In the case of a problem
Do not under any circumstances open the watch by yourself. By doing this you will negate your warranty and will be subject to repair charges. If you have a problem with your watch, you should send it to our service centre for inspection and/or repair, details of how to do so can be found here.
